Digital X-Ray
Digital X-Ray are a type of radiation most well-known for their ability to penetrate a person’s skin and reveal images of bones. The images show the parts of your body in different shades of black and white. This is because different tissues absorb different amounts of radiation. Calcium in bones absorbs x rays the most, so bones look white. Fat and other soft tissues absorb less and look gray. Air absorbs the least, so lungs look black.
The most common use of X-rays in our office is for ruling out fractures (broken bones) prior to treatment. For more info on how X-rays can be used to provide the appropriate treatment for your condition, contact us to schedule an appointment or consultation.
