Decompression

What is the Decompression Technique?
The decompression technique is an FDA-approved, non-surgical traction therapy designed to provide pain relief for those suffering from spinal disc herniations. Unlike traditional spinal traction, spinal decompression therapy alternates between phases of stretching and relaxation. This unique approach helps your body stay relaxed during the process, making the treatment more effective.

Spinal decompression therapy uses a specialized table that applies negative pressure to the affected disc. This negative pressure creates a “vacuum effect,” which helps pull the material that has leaked from the herniated disc back into its proper place. The vacuum effect also triggers a process called imbibition, allowing essential nutrients to flow into the injured disc and stimulating the body’s natural healing response.

This therapy is effective for treating cervical, thoracic, and lumbar disc herniations, helping patients regain mobility and reduce pain.

Who Benefits from Decompression?
Decompression therapy is beneficial for adults suffering from conditions such as:

  • Disc herniations and bulging discs
  • Spinal stenosis
  • Sciatica
  • Radiculopathy
  • Pinched nerves

What are the Treatment Sessions and Expected Results?
Each decompression therapy session typically lasts between 15 to 30 minutes. A recommended treatment schedule is 2-3 times per week, depending on the individual’s needs and treatment plan.

The success rate of spinal decompression therapy is comparable to surgical outcomes for herniated discs. It has been proven to significantly reduce pain and improve mobility, providing a non-invasive alternative to surgery. Our treatment sessions are personalized to each patient, ensuring an effective, tailored approach to pain relief and recovery.
